GadgetTrak Location-detection Technology

Hello, Everyone! Today's featured software is: MacTrak from GadgetTrak®
Price: $49.99 Amazon.com

GadgetTrak is software for stolen gadgets that will tell you where the gadgets are and who has them. Using location-detection technology, GadgetTrak pinpoints the location of your gadgets. Specifically, GadgetTrak uses GPS and WiFi signals to locate your lost electronics and lock them down, remotely, so a thief cannot use them and police can track them.

GadgetTrak's patent-pending MacTrakTM for OS X is the most advanced theft recovery solution available for Apple systems. The software utilizes cutting edge Wi-Fi positioning technology to provide you with information regarding where your Mac system is, with 10-20 meters of accuracy. Additionally, the software utilizes the built-in iSight camera to capture images of the thief and uploads them to your Flickr account with location data, at set intervals. Also, the software gathers network data and other useful information to assist law-enforcement in the recovery of your device(s). ~ Amazon

At this time of year many people will receive gadgets as gifts and many will give gadgets as gift, therefore gadget location-detection technology like this seems quite practical to have for those gadgets. The following video features this technology in use, and highlights GadgetTrak, on Good Morning America.
