JunkBots, Bugbots, and Bots on Wheels: Building Simple Robots With BEAM TechnologyBug-like Robots

In this video we see how Air Force Bugbots, a.k.a Micro Air Vehicle (MAVs), bug-like drones could function. They are fascinating technology. The bugbots seem like something we'd see on a Syfy program such as Eureka.

When We Left Earth - The NASA Missions (4-Disc Set in Limited Edition Tin)The A.T.H.L.E.T.E.

A.T.H.L.E.T.E./Athlete is the All Terrain Hex-Limbed Extra Terrestrial Explorer that engineers are hoping will be on a future moon shot. This is an interesting robot to watch. I can imagine having a smaller version for moving large, heavy items around in the garden, such as large tree planters.

Aquaduct: Mobile Water Filtration

The Aquaduct Mobile Filtration Vehicle, a.k.a The Aquaduct, is designed particularly for people in developing nations for whom attaining clean water is a problem. It is a pedal-powered concept vehicle that transports, filters, and stores water in its tanks. The rear of the bicycle can be filled with water and as the rider pedals the vehicle, water is drawn through a filter and into a closed receptacle/tank.

The Aquaduct vehicle seeks to address the two main challenges with water in the developing world: sanitation and transportation. The functional Aquaduct model was designed and constructed over a three-week period for the 'Innovate or Die' contest hosted by Specialized Bicycles, Google, and Goodby, Silverstein and Partners. It was the winning entry in the contest. ~ Aquaduct
