Solar Car Book A Complete Solar Racecar Kit |
Canadian engineering students have designed a solar-powered car that goes up to 66 miles/hour and on cloudy days can operate via the on-board battery for three hours, if the driver does not exceed 30 miles/hour. Their car, the Esteban 5, is ready to compete in the 1800-mile World Solar Challenge in Australia, October 25-31, 2009. The Esteban 5 cost approximately $100, 000 dollars to develop.
